Player Registration Information
A New Way of Thinking…… Starting with On-line Registration

Have you noticed how many kids are playing soccer? Have you noticed how many kids there are down at Discovery? Have you ever wondered what it took to put all of the schedules, coaches, teams, player passes and fields together??????? Well behind the scenes Millard Star is very fortunate to have a dedicated staff and a number of volunteers that take on this monumental challenge each season. With the growth of our club that task gets larger every season. In order to handle this large volume of players (the largest in Nebraska) we had to find a way to reduce the time it takes to register the players and then use that information to form teams, arrange for volunteer coaches, set schedules, assign fields, etc, etc. In the past we have had On-line registration purely for convenience to the parents. We had to take your online registration print it out, then re-input the information into another program that did the scheduling and so on, I think you can start to realize how time consuming this process is.
A new way of thinking came along and we have engaged a company to provide On-line registration in a secure and efficient manner while incorporating all tasks into one program. The BIG plus is that the information will not have to be re-entered any longer and can be utilized for even more tasks that used to take hours and sometimes days to complete, now we can simply do this by going to a web page.
Let me address a couple of concerns:
· I am concerned about giving my information or credit card over the Internet:
o All information is encrypted and is NOT sold to anyone and is solely for the use of Millard Star Soccer. You will notice a little padlock icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen during this process to indicate that is secured.
· I don’t want to pay with a Credit Card:
o There will be a “Pay by Check” option. In this case you will still need to fill the information out On-line but then there will be instructions on how to submit your payment. The registration will NOT be in effect until payment is received. There is no additional charge to pay by check versus using a credit card for the registration payment.
· When I sign up On-line and then “Pay by Check” later what happens to the registration?:
o No registration will be processed until the payment has been received. Payment must be received prior to the deadline or late fees will apply.
· If I sign up On-line and send the payment after the deadline is that OK?:
o You can send the payment in after the deadline but it MUST include the $10 late fee and will be considered incomplete until the late fee is paid. Your child will not be placed on a team until the correct fee is received. It is possible there will be no openings if you delay sending your payment.
· I don’t care if On-line is better I want to mail in the registration like I always have:
o We will accept “paper registrations” however there will be a $5 handling fee applied and the registration will be incomplete if the payment does not include the handling fee.
· Do I have to fill out all the information every season?:
o Once you have entered the information for that player it will be remembered. The next season you will be given the opportunity to change information as needed (such as address or phone number). This means that once you have registered on-line the first time all subsequent registrations will be even quicker and easier.
· Are fees being raised to support this?:
o Due to the time savings this program will create, fees were NOT raised to support this program.
· Will I still do Team Registrations?:
o All registrations will be online. Parents will be asked if they want to return to the same team with the current team information provided at this point in their registration process. If they select this option, their registration will be earmarked as returning to the same team. They may request a different team through a special request option. There will not be a hard copy team form as in the past.
To sum this up, Millard Star is actively trying to keep costs down while providing the easiest way possible to register your children to play soccer in the BEST soccer program in the state. Your effort to fill out the registration form on-line rather than on paper will take no more effort than before and future registrations will be even easier. This also positions Millard Star to handle the addition of the Omaha Sports Complex programs. Millard Star will be able to keep costs down and spend time with more important things like playing soccer. FALL 2008 REGISTRATION
Soccer for boys & girls born before August 1, 2004**
Season Dates: Aug 20, 2008 through Oct 20, 2008
Fee: $80 per U5 & U6 Arsenal Micro player through June 27, 2008
$100 per U7, U8, U9, U10 Arsenal Jr. Gunner player through June 27, 2008
$100 per U11 & older Arsenal Classic player through June 27, 2008
Returning players: Placement to a prior team will not be considered if you are not registered by the above dates. New players will not be considered for team placement until verification of date of birth and payment is received.
A late fee of $10 must be added to the amounts listed above if registering after the above dates.
Registration: Online @ www.millardstar.com - select “player registration”
Processing Fees: There is NO transaction fee for online registration
Game Locations: Arsenal Micro & Arsenal Jr. Gunners play at Discovery Soccer Complex, 136 & Q or MYSC, 7550 S. 156 St.
Arsenal Classic teams travel within a 30 mile radius of Omaha in addition to MSSA home fields
Days of Play: Arsenal Mico & Arsenal Jr. Gunner days of play are listed on the home page: www.millardstar.com
Practice Locations: All practice schedules and locations are at the discretion of the volunteer coach. Practices will not be scheduled for either game location.
Refund Policy: Requests for refunds must be made in writing by April 1, 2008. The refund will be minus $20 in administrative fees. Refunds will not be considered after April 1, 2008.

Birth Certificates: New players to Millard Star Soccer must provide a photo copy before the registration is considered complete. Players will not be assigned to a team until this copy is received.
