Micro Program U5 & U6

Rules and guidelines

 

Ages: U5- U6 Girls and Boys

 

Roster size:            U5 and U6 = 6 Players

 

Game:                     U5, U6 3v3, Two 20 Minute halves, No Keepers

                                 

Field Size:              Will be under guidelines of region 2

Ball size:                 #3, Goals Micro size supplied at game field

 

Rules:                     No throw-ins, kick-ins only, no direct kicks, no Penalty Kicks.

      No referee, coaches’ act as referee on the field of plays (1 coach per team only).

      No score or standings are kept throughout this program.

      Shin guards must be worn at all games.

      No piercings, hats or jewelry. Eyeglasses must be secured by appropriate glasses band.

      Equal playing time is enforced.

      M.S.S.A. uniform is required. (Reversible shirt shorts and socks). 

      No recruiting is allowed throughout this program.

      No Slide tackling will be allowed throughout this program.

 

Practice:                 Teams may practice prior to the season beginning.  Once the season begins,  players should not be expected to practice.  Two games per week is enough for these younger players.

 

Clubs Objectives for Coaches at U 5 and 6

·         Basic dribbling with non-dominant foot is not stressed at this time.

·         Basic control and direction with the ball.

·         Simple passing and moving to team mates.

·         Simple receiving of ground balls.

·         Small Group games to promote team understanding and solving problems as a group.

·         Fun games must be included throughout this program to promote fundamentals in passing and receiving.

·         Coaching courses are available for coaches or volunteers working in this program. (Youth Module hosted by M.S.S.A. and administered by N.S.S.A.)

Clubs Goals

 

It is the clubs goal that all players, coaches and parents enjoy the micro program. This program is designed to be fun while players are taught the basics of soccer.  Coaches must use good ethical and moral standards at all times. Parents are encouraged to gain a basic knowledge of the game.
