Arsenal Primo's tough love: Coach has his team primed for college
Alex Vazquez has gotten Arsenal Primo ready for some big national
tournaments since taking over as coach of the select soccer team more
than a year ago. Seniors from Arsenal Primo who are going to play in
college: from left, Katie Hurd, Kourtney Frank, Brianne West, Amanda
Woelfel, Liz Blackburn, Jami Finnell, Zaina Mayer, Bri Badje, Bri
Exstrom, Alexa Lind and Brittney Neumann.But his workouts are actually
aimed for this August, when most of the girls on the under-18 squad take
their first steps with a new college team. Twelve girls on Primo have
signed with or committed to Division I or Division II schools, the
largest number ever for an Arsenal team. Vazquez, a former college and
pro player, wants to make sure they're ready.
