Players are awarded 6 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a shutout. You can award an extra point for each player who scores.

At the end of each game the teams come back and line up in their groups of four. Know you can collect the scores and add them to a master sheet.

           A B C D

           A B C D

           A B C D

           A B C D

So for example the next team of players will be the first player from group

A B C D this way the teams will always be different. If you have an odd number just rotate so there will be 3 teams of 4 and one team of 5.

The game

There should be no stoppages or coaching moments. If the ball leaves the field of play the game restarts with a kick in have a good supply of soccer balls behind each goal so time is not wasted. Goals can be scored from anywhere even a kick in.   After every goal the game starts from that goal line.

Street Soccer and its importance

What does the game of street soccer give to us the coaches?

It allows players to play and make decisions on their own.  The game gives us all four components of soccer.

Technically – it will improve passing and shooting techniques.  It will also improve the players ability to dribble and to receive whilst playing in a small sided game.

Tactically – players will have to adjust from defending to attacking while also giving support and balance.  Communication will also improve in this small-sided game.

Fitness – player’s stamina will improve because of the lack of stoppages.  Due to the size of the field and the numbers of players playing there are many opportunities for physical contact.  All round fitness will improve.

Psychologically – all players have to adjust to a new team every four minutes.  This will improve the player’s psychological traits.  Players will quickly understand their direct importance to every team score.  This game will reward you with a captain or future role models.

What does street soccer give to our players?

It allows our players to play without at times continuous interruptions from us the coaches.  Players learn very quickly that they can make mistakes and make up for that mistake without it being highlighted by us the coaches.  The game will be the teacher for our players.

Street soccer can be played as many times as needed for example: just after a tournament where players need to have a break or as preparation for a tournament.  You can also use street soccer as a planned session, just add a topic into the game.
